THE BIG LUNCH, Sunday 9th June, 1-4pm

BigLunch2013Everyone <that means you!> in Lennoxtown is invited to take part in the nationwide get-together for neighbours – a great excuse to get to know people, try new things and have a party!

Bring a picnic lunch with you, maybe some nibbles to share and enjoy a fun filled day.

Jazz band Blue Lane will be providing musical entertainment to get you dancing, the tearoom will be open, and there will be kids crafts, street games, bouncy castle and a raffle with amazing prizes.

 

Free refreshments + lots more. It’s sure to be an amazing day!

We are all looking forward to our Spring Fair tomorrow! We’ve got some great stalls and activities for all the family so we really hope you’ll join us for a fun and enjoyable day.

Spring/Summer Events 2013

Hope you have all had a lovely Easter weekend. Here’s a wee update on the events we have lined up for you this Spring/Summer.

Remember to get your tickets for CAMPSIEFEST 4 coming up on Friday 12th April. You can pick them up from the chemist or from the hall during the Saturday morning food Co-op (10am – 1pm).

The fabulous SPRING FAIR returns on Saturday 27th April for you to pick up some home baking and other goodies from the stall holders and lots more to keep the kids entertained.

THE BIG LUNCH takes place on Sunday 9th June so put a note in your diaries to come down and enjoy the neighbourhood get together. You can find out more about the nationwide project here

Film Club

Do you have an interest in films and cinema?

Can you dedicate some time to organising a Film Club?

Using Campsie Memorial Hall’s fabulous new technology to show new and old, strange and wonderful films we can bring the cinematic experience to Lennoxtown!

1st Anniversary!

Saturday 17th December marks the 1st Anniversary date of the hall’s first year of charitable trust ownership. Here’s a brief overview of what has been achieved so far…

  • Sports Related Activities (7500+ participants)
  • Zumba (2000+ participants)
  • Youth and Children’s Activities (2500+ participants)
  • Meetings and Surgeries (x80)
  • Celebrations – Birthday/Engagement Parties & Christenings etc. (3000+ attendees)
  • Band nights (15+ bands have played so far)
  • Community Cinema (5 Shows / 700+ visits)
  • Car Boot Sales (x3)
  • Fun Days, Open Days, Fairs (x5) ·
  • Chess Competitions, Drama groups, Music Groups + Flower Show

We have: Secured £84,000 grant income, repaired heating, decorated the hall, installed insulation, repaired doors, improved disabled facilities (ongoing) and won the Jubilee Millions.

We host: The Fruit and Veg. Co-operative (every Saturday at 10am)  and Forward Training – youth training scheme.

Phew! Not bad for year one. I wonder how many cakes from the home baking stalls have been eaten?!

If you’d like to help us celebrate we are having a festive evening on Saturday 17th December,   ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ will be showing (7.30 for 8pm, £5).  We’ll make you merry happy with mulled wine and mince pies!
